We chose Tulum because it’s quiet, off the beaten path enough that you can integrate into the rich local culture. It’s also extremely accessible via the Cancun international airport with direct flights from more cities in the world than anywhere else. Incidentally it is renown for its crystal clear water, white sand, snorkeling, scuba diving, cenotes, Mayan Ruins, the Sian Kaan biosphere, fine dining and innumerable other touristic attractions. It’s an area protected by national park status and marine reserves so that both we and the future generations can enjoy its beauty.
